Dr. Sarah McKenzie PhD

Dr. Sarah McKenzie is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Psychological Medicine at The University of Otago. She is supported by the Royal Society of New Zealand Te Apārangi through a Marsden Fast Start Grant and a Lottery Health Research Grant. Sarah is an interdisciplinary researcher with expertise in qualitative health research, inequities in mental health and illness, public health and critical suicidology. Sarah leads participatory arts research that focuses on using visual methods to unpack social and structural inequities in men’s mental illness. Her goal is to co-create resources using participatory arts as a non-clinical approach for the management and promotion of men’s mental health.
